Or you can bring your own bits as you like. The knife blade side of the tool has a stainless steel hex sleeve that you can insert these bits into for use as a screwdriver. This kit includes a set of 4 double-sided screwdriver bits with multiple Phillips, flat head, and torx bit ends… That file has a little centimeter ruler on the back side as well.īack on the saw blade side you’ll find a bottle opener, a can opener, and an awl that also has a sharp edge for slicing.īut just when you thought you were done, you get more. The opposite side has a standard knife blade and a file. There’s a rope cutter/slicer and a saw blade on this side. You’ll push that button to unlock it and return it to the closed position.Įvery tool on the device uses the same locking mechanism so you don’t carve up your fingers.Īnd speaking of sharp things… another benefit of a bigger multi-tool is that you get full-sized blades. Would be a wave with a guthook and s30v blade, as well as some better quality control. When your chosen tool (the rope butter in this case) is fully extended it locks into position. If it means possibly smaller scissors and getting rid of the ruler I'm okay with that, if anything put grooves in the file or somewhere along the body to replace the ruler. Somehow fit in a bigger filer, and throw in a bit driver. Plus $140 for 420hc steel is a bit absurd.Ī Leatherman p4 built with the same quality as voctorinox, rounded edges, fewer hot spots etc.Ī more aggressive blade shape similar to the wave with s30v. The blade is useful, but I'd hope id never have to use it as a self defense tool. I do prefer the longer Phillips for reaching certain things. There's like 12 flathead on the thing which is meh. The ruler is useless and a waste of space. Leatherman p4, it's innovative and fresh, but I can't help feeling tools were just thrown in. Leatherman charge tti, great blade steel and shape, but its a little clunky compared to the very similar wave, noticeable size increase in the pocket Leatherman wave feels great in pocket, harder to use the interior tools one handed, blade steel Is okay at best, but the uniform frame is preferred over the scales on the tti. Biggest drawback is I cannot comfortably carry it in my pocket without a clip, and doesn't replace my edc knife. Victorinox spirit, great, has every tool I could want minus a bit driver, but near perfection in terms of quality/ fit and finish. It also doesn't have a one handed blade which makes me feel like I still need to carry a pocket knife. To start : victorinox Swiss tool, my first multi tool, durable, relatively thin for its size, but no pocket clip. So based of my reasoning I have a request for what I would find the perfect multi tool, and why I've came to that decision based off of my current collection. My sister who knows I have "a bunch of tools" asked if I could give one to her husband, which at a point I realized is a lot harder than I thought it'd be, not because I don't want to give him one, but because everyone id give covers a certain area. I still want more, and I realized its because I'm not completely happy with my collection. Thank you :) Related SubredditsĪs a newer collector I still find another of joy in getting a new tool, my grown man toys. Please do not message the mods, Be patient and post in a few day.
